Sewing is complete

29 Jan

No photos this morning, but I can happily report that I finished all the sewing yesterday.  Whew!  A lot of fiddly, hand sewn, crazy bits of things very much in the line of Tim Gunn and his famous “make it work” slogan.

The floats are attached with a swim suit hook and a couple of clear plastic snaps, that I had the foresight to pick up last time I was in Dressew. There is a wide band of very comfy elastic hand sewn in to act as a waist stay and keep the skirt from dragging down.  That took hours! Wow – I think that is all I did yesterday, though I added a few rhinestones in the evening.

Now just to finish the stones on the body of the dress, though it is at my favourite stage where I could wear it as is if I wanted to.  Everything else is gravy now.
