What once was a flaw is now a “design element.”  By clever arrangement of the incorrectly cut ruffle, it becomes an “interestingly shaped” ruffle. And since it will not show at all, I am happy to leave it that way.  I would post photos, but it is white on white and would look pretty boring.

On the other hand, I went to try out the Winter Sky gown today and found that my intended design feature of channels to hold the detachable bra straps were cleverly and carefully hand sewn up!  Yes, when attaching the main dress to the under dress, I stitched in the ditch right across the channel.  Argh!  The good news is that I did a quick fix and we did get photos and video, which will be loaded up asap.  Extra good news is that while I was fiddling around with that, I realized that instead of channels for the bra straps, I could permanently sew in a set of straps and then use any convertible top body shaper I want.  The straps and attachments are standard issue, so the straps will work with any appropriate undergarment.  Yay!  One less step on competition day.  Always a good thing.
