Feeling like a Flying Wallenda – working without a net

Yesterday I got a front made for the Candy Wrapper and I even put the sleeves on.  It is okay, but not what I wanted.  Having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to morph a fitted bodice to a slight cowl neck from a loose fitting blouse pattern

Here is the pattern.  I have used it before and like the slight drape on the top.

Here is my curvy model.

You can see why I need to get the fit a bit closer to the body.  This is going to be a Latin gown, after all, though considerably more modest than some: like this

And here is the body suit/dress pattern I want to add onto:

And this is how I think it might work.  Angling the dress pattern onto the cowl neck pattern keeping the shoulder seams matching gives me a wedge addition to the center top of the dress which should make the drape…drape, yes?

Obviously I will not be able to cut this on the fold, which means a center front seam, which will affect the drape.  Argh!
