Appearances can be deceiving.

23 Jul

Deceiving because first of all this was originally a test garment, which you might remember from former posts.  Secondly, it is thrown together from bits and pieces of whatever I had kicking around the sewing room and thirdly because it is seriously ugly on the inside!  It has shoddy seams made with pink and blue thread, the top layer of the flounce it sewn on with zero seam finishing, zigzagged with purple thread.  But I love the fabric and I think it will get a wear or two somewhere along the line.

So I combed my hair, threw on the biggest earrings I could quickly find, dusted off (sadly, literally) my kick-a$$ Chinese Laundry red shoes and grabbed a few quick photos.

The back is higher than on the final dress for practical reasons and I obviously have to fix the drape so the white doesn’t show, but I like this dress on the outside, even if the inside is a little less than glam. 🙂
