Glenda needs new glasses.

14 Mar

So I am shopping for my glasses on my own, which is never easy.  Typically I do my best to shop for glasses and bathing suits with my lovely daughter, who will always tell the truth and tell it wisely and gently. “Hmmm…that one looks a bit uh….widening, Mom.” or “Yeah, those are pretty funky, but is that the look you want for every day?”  or the classic, “No skirts on bathing suits until you are over 50!”  Pushing 60 now and still no skirt.  Thanks Sweetie!  But now you are in Scotland and I am on my own!

So I went glasses shopping by myself and forgot to bring a) my prescription and b) my contact lenses.  Consequently, the salesperson didn’t have the whole info needed to fully help me with pricing and, more importantly, I couldn’t see a darn thing!  So I crept around the store and tried on glasses with my face 6″ from the mirror and I think I found some I like.

The salesclerk did offer to take my photos for me, but I was determined to master the selfie.  At home I use a tripod and timer on an actual camera, but these are “proper” selfies in a mirror with my phone.

My eyes are FAR too far away from the phone to actually read anything in this one.

Hmmm…look a bit cross-eyed there!

These frames do coordinate well with today’s outfit!

Side view.

Going back to order them soon.

UPDATE: Ordered today March 23.  Happy dance.
